Katrine Bregnum
Choreographer, Dancer and Teacher/ Somatic-Facilitator
Katrine is a physical narrator, whose main form of expression is movement. It is seamlessly translated into stage, workshops, film, installations and performance work.
Her facilitation and choreographic craft is formulated trough authentic movement, somatic practices, character development and the interplay of curated bodies and formations.

As a contemporary Dance artist, Choreographer, Somatic and movement facilitator based in Berlin.
A graduate of "Performers House" (2009) and "Die Etage" (2015), her work explores the body as a living tool for communication, research and transformation.
Through her practice, she investigates how physical expression can expand our sense of connection — reaching beyond words to create shared experiences of presence, intimacy, and awareness.
Teaching
Contemporary dance and somatic movement
This practice invites a meeting point between contemporary dance and somatic practice—where movement emerges from sensation, attention, and relational awareness. Drawing from contact improvisation and floorwork, we explore how the body can move with, rather than against, gravity, momentum, and the shared space.
Through guided improvisations, we tune into the intelligence of the body—how joints articulate in relation to the spine, how weight travels, and how movement pathways unfold organically. The floor becomes a partner, offering feedback, support, and resistance, while contact with others opens a dialogue of listening, timing, and responsiveness.
We work with principles such as spiraling, sliding, yielding, and falling—allowing momentum to arise through connection rather than force. By softening into reflexes and sensing rather than controlling, we explore how to receive and give weight with clarity and trust, creating a space where risk can be met with awareness.
The practice moves between inner perception and outer composition. Through somatic listening and embodied attention—from the skin to the wider spatial field—we expand both technical and compositional sensitivity.
This is not only about refining movement skills, but about deepening presence, responsiveness, and the body’s capacity to navigate between structure and improvisation.
Somatic Movement - A Body-Based Practice for Emotional Awareness and Regulation
This workshop offers a therapeutic, body-based approach to exploring the connection between movement, emotion, and awareness. It is open to both practitioners, students, and anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the body as an essential part of psychological and emotional processes.
Rooted in somatic practice, the work understands the body not only as a physical structure, but as a living system where experiences, emotions, and patterns are held and expressed. Through gentle guidance, participants are invited to develop a more refined awareness of bodily sensations, impulses, and internal states.
The practice combines elements of somatic movement, breath awareness, and improvisation. It creates a structured yet open space where participants can explore how movement can support emotional processing, self-regulation, and a deeper sense of presence.
There is no focus on performance or aesthetic form. Instead, attention is directed toward internal experience—toward sensing, allowing, and giving space to what emerges in the moment. This can support the release of tension, increased emotional clarity, and a more grounded connection to oneself.
The workshop may include:
-
Guided somatic movement explorations
-
Awareness of breath and nervous system states
-
Movement as a tool for emotional processing
-
Exploration of patterns held in the body
-
Individual, partner, and group-based exercises
This work can be particularly relevant within therapeutic contexts, as it supports the integration of bodily awareness into relational and psychological processes. It offers participants practical tools for working with presence, regulation, and embodied listening—both in their own experience and in their work with others.
The aim is to create a safe and supportive environment where the body can be approached as a resource for insight, regulation, and transformation.
